“Oriental Gardens Incense”
.
Each box has phenomenal, 7 color graphics, of a Fire breathing Lizard Dragon, wrapped around the company shield and Logo. On the shield the product name is written;
“Oriental Dragon”.
It’s hard to find words to describe how
Striking
the graphics are. Ideal for 1960’s Hippy Items collectors. The highly Illustrated dragon, with so many colors, stands out and is prominently unique. Imported from Japan in the late 1950’s in time for the 1960’s heavy use of incense by Hippies in the 1960’s, to “mask” other smoke odors, like hash and reefer.
The incredible, extraordinarily detailed box, is 4 by 1 ¾ inches, ¾ of an inch thick. It contains 10 cones of at least 2 different scents of incense. It also has a small
“Burning Stone”
that you set the cone of incense on after you light it. It is a small, thin square piece of polished stone, designed to burn the incense on and contain the slight ashes left over. Each incense cone burns for about 1 hour. Enough time to smoke a few joints. We found a small stack of these Display Card "Point of Sale"

in a box on the back shelf of an old 1960’s “Head Shop”, specializing in the unique needs of Hippies. Each of the 12 boxes is held in place by a spot of glue as seen in one of the photos. They would usually sell for about a dollar a box.
